GFCT Joins Urology Leaders at BAUN 2025 in Edinburgh
GFCT Founder Graham Fulford and his wife Sue attended BAUN 2025 in Edinburgh this week, representing the charity among hundreds of urology professionals from across the UK.
BAUN, the British Association of Urological Nurses, is the leading professional body for nurses specialising in urology care. Its annual conference brings together clinicians, researchers, charities and industry partners to share the latest advances in urology, highlight challenges within the NHS, and explore new ways to improve care for patients.
Graham described the event as “truly heartwarming to be involved in,” noting the dedication and positivity of the urology nurses they met. Despite working under immense pressure, he said, these nurses “manage to keep smiling under very difficult conditions.”
GFCT showcased the ultrasound scanners and biopsy equipment the charity has purchased for NHS hospitals through its Treatment Support division, helping trusts replace outdated or broken machines to ensure men have access to faster and more accurate diagnosis.
The event also opened the door to more collaborations. Graham established links with Prostate Scotland, Urology News and others. Around 40 nurses expressed interest in assisting the charity at future PSA testing events by taking blood samples.
Graham closed by saying the charity looks forward to supporting the conference again when it moves to Manchester in 2026.
